Archiving Policy
Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy
AKUBIS: Jurnal Akuntansi Bisnis Pelita Bangsa is committed to the long-term preservation, integrity, accessibility, and continuity of its published scholarly content. The journal recognizes digital preservation as an essential responsibility in maintaining a reliable and permanent scholarly record.
1. Digital Preservation Commitment
AKUBIS is committed to preserving published articles, journal issues, bibliographic metadata, and associated supplementary materials to support long-term access to scholarly research.
The journal aims to maintain the availability and integrity of its publications despite technological changes, system migration, or interruptions to its online publishing platform.
2. Open Journal Systems (OJS) Archiving
AKUBIS uses Open Journal Systems (OJS), an open-source journal publishing platform developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP).
Published articles, journal issues, and publication metadata are organized and made accessible through the journal's electronic publishing platform. The editorial and technical management teams are responsible for coordinating the maintenance and long-term accessibility of the journal's digital records.
3. Backup and Data Recovery
AKUBIS recognizes the importance of systematic data backup and recovery procedures in protecting published scholarly materials.
The journal's digital preservation framework includes the following operational priorities:
- Maintaining recoverable copies of published articles and supplementary files.
- Protecting journal databases and publication metadata against accidental loss or corruption.
- Supporting appropriate backup and restoration procedures.
- Maintaining secure access to journal management systems.
- Preserving the completeness and authenticity of published scholarly records.
The implementation and verification of technical backup procedures are the responsibility of the journal's authorized technical administrators and publishing institution.
4. Persistent Identification and Metadata
AKUBIS assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to its scholarly publications where applicable. DOIs support persistent identification, citation, and discovery of published research.
The journal is committed to maintaining accurate bibliographic metadata, including article titles, author information, publication dates, journal volume and issue information, and DOI records.
Persistent identifiers and metadata management support discoverability and continuity of access, but do not replace independent digital preservation.
5. Distributed Digital Preservation
AKUBIS recognizes the importance of distributed digital preservation services, including the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe).
These services provide potential mechanisms for protecting scholarly publications through independent or geographically distributed archives.
Participation in any external preservation network will be publicly declared only after the journal has verified the relevant agreement, technical configuration, and successful preservation of its published content.
The availability of preservation features within OJS does not, by itself, constitute confirmation of active participation in these services.
6. Author Self-Archiving
AKUBIS supports the dissemination and preservation of scholarly research through institutional repositories and other appropriate academic archiving platforms.
Authors may archive permitted versions of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, personal academic websites, or other scholarly repositories in accordance with the journal's copyright and licensing policy.
When archiving the published version, authors should provide appropriate attribution to AKUBIS and include the DOI or permanent link to the original publication.
7. Preservation of the Scholarly Record
AKUBIS is committed to maintaining the integrity of its published scholarly record.
Corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and other post-publication notices should be properly documented and linked to the original publications, consistent with the journal's publication ethics and editorial policies.
Published records should not be altered or removed without a documented editorial justification and appropriate consideration of publication ethics and legal requirements.
8. Continuity of Access
In the event of platform migration, institutional restructuring, or discontinuation of journal publication, AKUBIS is committed to pursuing appropriate measures to preserve its scholarly content and maintain continued public access wherever technically and legally feasible.
Such measures may include the transfer of publication records to an appropriate institutional repository or verified digital preservation service.
9. Policy Review
This policy is subject to periodic review to reflect developments in digital preservation standards, publishing technologies, institutional capabilities, and scholarly communication practices.
